Pocomoke City-Michael Louis Switalski, 66, died unexpectedly at his Pocomoke City home on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, after surviving cancer.

Born April 23, 1947 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph Switalski and the late Irene Sokolowski Switalski.

He served in the Navy prior to beginning his law enforcement career, retiring as a Lt. from the Elkton, MD Police Department with 36 years of service and also retiring as a Lt. from the Pocomoke City Police Department in 2009 with 16 years of service.

He was a member of Lynnhaven Baptist Church where he loved being the Praise Team drummer and formed many valued friendships with his Christian brothers in the men's bible study and Lynnhavens prayer team.

Michael avidly hunted to provide for his family and neighbors. He spent his life serving and protecting his community and loved ones.

Mr. Switalski is survived by his wife, Michelle Switalski; five children; two sons: Kevin Mallick and his wife Shannon of Seattle, WA and Warren Mallick of Salisbury; three daughters: Brandi Switalski of Havre De Grace, Stephanie Switalski and Sarah Switalski of Pocomoke City; three grandchildren: Rylie Ann Switalski of Pocomoke City Taylor Anna and Robert Jordan Mallick of Seattle, WA.

At his request, there will be no formal services.

I'm sorry to the whole family, i am trully sorry for your loss of Michael. He will be missed so much.. he was a friend of mine in a way and i'll miss him. He will be in everyone's hearts. God bless Michael i hope your in a better place with God.
