Mr. Michael J "Mike" Valadez

Michael J Valadez, of Chino, California, born on July 6, 1954 in Los Angeles, California, to Anna Povlish Valadez and Jesus Valadez, passed away from lung cancer at age 64 on January 4, 2019 in Hesperia, California. He graduated from Chino High School in 1972. Mike was an accomplished musician and drummer and played with many bands throughout his life. He worked for the State of California as a Correctional Case Records Analyst in the Paroles Division at Case Records South in Rancho Cucamonga, CA before transferring to Chino Institution for Men (CIM) in Chino, CA until retiring in 2016. Michael was the beloved husband of Shelley Johnson-Valadez. They celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary on Christmas 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Valadez-Otero and Breanna Valadez Trules; brothers, Jesse Valadez, John Valadez, and David Valadez; sisters, MaryAnn Rudnick and Deborah Valadez; and grandchildren, Sienna Otero, Cecily Otero, Joseph Otero, David Otero, Liliana Trules, Valentina Trules, and Anastacia Trules. Friends and family can pay their respects at the Rosary service on Friday, January 11th, 2019, at St Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 14085 Peyton Dr, Chino Hills, California, 91709. A Catholic Mass will be held after the Rosary. The burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 444 E Lexington Ave, Pomona, California, 91766.
