Michael James Ziegler

Ziegler, Michael James of Fridley, Minnesota passed away peacefully in his home on August 10th 2025.

Mike was born to parents Donald and Ramona in Mora, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 1971, he entered the Army. He served in Okinawa, Japan as a medic during the Vietnam war.

Throughout the years Mike was an accountant and tax man; realtor and landlord; tree farmer, logger, sawyer and woodworker; train hopper and enthusiast; hunter and fisherman; horse breeder and trainer; brewer and grower; archer and champion horseshoe pitcher; and Harley rider, among many other things.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Ramona, and two of his younger brothers, Thomas and Joseph. He is survived by his wife Caryn of 56 years, children Mark (Annette), Paul (Kristin), and Danielle (Joseph); grandchildren Joseph, Kirsten, Erik, Lillian, Linnea, Jack and Benjamin; siblings Kathleen (Paul), Timothy (Michelle), and Julie; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, September 12th at the Catholic Church of St. William in Fridley, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 10-11am with a Catholic mass to follow. Lunch will be provided after the mass. Following classic Ziegler tradition, the family welcomes anyone to come up to Brook Park Cemetery in Brook Park, Minnesota for the interment after the luncheon.
