Michelle FRANKS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 8 to Mar. 9, 2016.
FRANKS, Michelle Rose
Michelle Rose Franks, passed away on the morning of March 3, 2016 at the age of 43. Michelle is the devoted daughter of Cyndi Bock and was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 3, 1973. Michelle grew up in Pittsburgh where she graduated from Woodland Hills High School in 1991. She became a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who she supported with abundant loyalty.

Michelle and her mother subsequently relocated and have called Texas home for over twenty years. She would attend the Stephen F. Austin University earning a BA degree in Elementary Education. She met her future husband, Jason Franks, in San Antonio. They shared a deep love and affection, which extended to their friends and family. Michelle and Jason purchased a home on Canyon Lake, and they reveled in their view of the lake and boating expeditions on the water. They were truly in love, and very happy.

Michelle devoted her career efforts to the help of other people. Her education led her to teaching and counseling. She was advancing her education and nearing the completion of a Master's degree at UT San Antonio. In the last several years she worked at The Center for Health Care Services in San Antonio as a Dependency Counselor helping people get back their lives and onto their feet, while staying off drugs. She was known for giving direct and great advice. Michelle genuinely cared for others, professionally and personally.

She had a strong sense of family. Michelle would express these feeling in writing, and her immediate family have endless stories of the cards and verses they would receive from her. She was also a great friend to a lot of people and the backbone to a quartet of Best Friends who she stood up for and always had their back. She was known as a great gift-giver, because she really took the time to know someone. Michelle's devotion extended to her beloved dogs, Milo and Viking. They were family too.

Michelle's interests extended from the lakes to the mountains, where Telluride, Colorado became a favorite. Her travels included the Caribbean, NYC, Cabo San Lucas, and most recently Italy. She enjoyed many forms of music, and was a natural musician. Live concerts were a source of considerable enjoyment. Michelle was truly special, gone far too soon, and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Franks of Canyon Lake, TX, and her daughter, Nicole Wenger of Ft. Pierce, FL. Also by her parents, Cyndi and Bill Bock of Austin, TX. She is further survived by her brother, Brent Zaal, and his wife Megan and their newborn daughter, Audrey of Austin, TX. She is predeceased by her sister, Lauren Elizabeth Zaal. Michelle's enduring family includes numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Missouri and Texas.

Public visitation will begin at 2pm Wednesday, March 9th, at the Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, TX. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to First Giving https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/kristine-france/MichelleFranks .

Its sad to see someone one day and to hear the tragic news the next day. I made a copy of the thank you letter you gave me on 3/2/2016. It comes to remind me to always be a light to others because you never know what could happen from one day till the next. you were very compassionate with what you did and we all loved you here at work. Thank you for being apart of my life and I will always remember that beautiful smile...

Michelle, there was a fragrance that you had on one day and I asked you about it, I can't remember the name of it, but it was spicy, and it lingered. When ever I caught the scent in the air I would say to myself "Awww Michelle has been through hear" and I would smile. We would talk about fashion, where did you get those jean, girl you are rocking those shoes, 3 inch heels :-) and I would see her with flats a few hours later. I would ask sometimes how are you feeling today? and if you know Michelle, when she was not feeling well you know how she would respond. No more pain girl friend, no more pain. Thank you for the watermelon bubble gum. Gone to soon. You will be missed.

Michelle, I will miss seeing you every day when you arrived home from work. I could tell the time of the day by your arrivals. I will miss our "hellos " and waves as we would meet in our driveways.
