Michelle (Huckabee) Evans Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2025.
Michelle Marie Huckabee Evans fell asleep peacefully at home in New Port Richey, Florida on July 17, 2025, at the age of 44. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Michelle is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Ray Evans; her beloved sons, Landon and Blake; her parents, John and Gail Huckabee; and her brother, John Gordon Huckabee Jr. and his loving wife, Erikka. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends who will deeply miss her vibrant spirit.

Born on September 10, 1980, in Syracuse, New York, Michelle was the cherished daughter of John and Gail Huckabee. Michelle was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 13, on June 25, 1994. Her faith was central to her life. She cherished her time pioneering right after high school and passionately shared her belief in the living God, Jehovah, throughout her life.

On April 22, 2000, she married the love of her life, Curtis, also of Syracuse. Curt and Michelle recently celebrated 25 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love. In 2003, Michelle and Curt moved to Florida and later welcomed their two beloved sons, Landon Curtis and Blake Westin. Michelle adored her boys and found immense joy in being their mother. Her greatest aspiration, to see them grow into adults and serve Jehovah, was realized. Curt lovingly spoiled her, supporting her desire to travel with family and close friends. She loved living in Florida, where she could spontaneously enjoy the beach and the water.

Michelle excelled at organizing and decorating. Even as a child, her family remembers her excitedly organizing family activities. She enjoyed her time working at the Pottery Barn, and quickly rose to Tabletop Manager at the age of 19. Her home reflects her lifelong love for decorating, but her true passion always remained being a loving wife, mother, and household manager.

From the age of 23, she bravely battled a brain tumor for 21 years. She loved and thanked the Moffitt team who managed her healthcare. She realized they helped save her life many times. Ultimately though, her strength came from Jehovah. Her favorite phrase, "Jehovah knows," was a testament to her conviction that He was always by her side. She never sought pity, often saying, "It's not about me!" Though she lost her sight ten years ago, it never diminished her outgoing nature or her love for life. Most importantly, she was able to use the tools on her phone to navigate technology to stay updated on JW Library and JW.org, doing her personal study. Participating and commenting at Christian meetings was always a priority to her and one she instilled in her sons. Her loss of sight didn't disrupt her from continuing her daily activities, including applying her own makeup. Her guide dog Alani remained a faithful companion. Her courage and resilience inspired all who knew her.

Michelle drew strength from her father, John. Her mother, Gail, was not only a constant source of support through Michelle's health challenges but also her best friend. Even when her speech was limited, Michelle profoundly expressed her feelings for her husband, declaring, "Curt is love!" When Curt was at work supporting the family, Landon was Michelle's loyal personal assistant, always there attending to her needs. Blake lovingly served as her fashion coordinator when she was getting ready for her meetings to worship Jehovah. Her other close family members and her dear friends that she cherished from many congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses supported her throughout her lifetime.

Michelle was known for her thoughtful gestures, especially giving balloons for any occasion. For all her friends and family who send their love, please remember Michelle's unforgettable reply: "Love you more!"

Michelle was deeply loved and will always be forever remembered. I´m so comforted by the fact that she is with God. No more suffering and the need to be unbelievably strong. She has been the best example of a mother and Christian woman of faith. She is so very missed by many.

Michelle, I will always be grateful for your encouragement, and asking me that important question, What Are You Waiting for. You gave me the strength I needed to do the most important thing in my life ( getting baptized). I will never forget you, I love you always.
