The end to a long journey has come for Mick. The journey for his family will go on but will be changed forever. What a legacy he has left for those who knew and loved him. Lyndon and I are blessed to be a part of this loving family. I pray for Mick's family as they move on. I know that all of our lives have been enriched by Mick's life, his suffering and his entry into heaven! May we all be inspired to be used by God to touch the world around us and make it a better place!

I know that Mick is at peace now, and that is very comforting. He's likely catching up with Mom & Dad, Frank and everyone else that is there to greet him into eternity. He's been a tremendous inspiration to me, as I know he has been to hundreds of others. The couragousness that he has shown over the past years and especially the last months & weeks was amazing. I never heard him once say, "why me?" I can just picture Mick with his new body, running & jumping & pedaling just like a kid with a new bike. I love you Mick ... I look forward to seeing you again in about forty years, provided God blesses my life here that long.

Dear Larry & Nancy, Rick & Val and the family of Mick Hertz,
Al and I were saddened to read in the Star-Phoenix of the passing of Mick.
GOD CARES WHEN WE LOSE SOMEONE SO SPECIAL -
We may never understand why someone caring, kind, and good would have to leave us long before we ever thought they would,
Yet, comfort comes in knowing God is with us every day And grieves with us when one so full of goodness slips away.
And so, we trust His steadfast love through sorrow, pain, and fears,
As He holds us gently in His arms and wipes away our tears.
Please find comfort in knowing that it's God's will your Mick has been reunited with our Lord. Give glory to your Mick by celebrating his life on earth and continuing on his legacy. He has gone through the golden gate to prepare the way for all of you.
Wishing you a hand to hold when you feel down,
a star to wish on when dreams fill your heart,
a smile to cheer you when you need it most,
and love to remind you that you are very special.
May your special memories be a comfort to you at this time.
With our most sincere condolences to you and your family,
You are in our thoughts with a special prayer.

I knew Mike through the 2 year Layformation program that we both graduated from in 2004. Mike never complained of his problems but was quick to offer words of encouragement to others that needed help with their burdens. He was of great value in our Small Prayer Group. He was a pleasure to know and be associated with. His musical talents were also very much apprecciated. God Bless you Mike. Till we meet again at that grand "Lay Formation Reunion". Sincere condolences to his family. He was a good man.
