Mike Samuel Katelnikoff
May 3, 1924 - June 7, 2012
Dad peacefully left this earthly life, leaving to grieve his absence is his loving wife of 65 years, Susie, his daughter and caregiver, Cathy also his other children, Walter (Janine), Marilyn Tweet, Garry (Andrea) and Ken (Gloria) as well as 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, his sisters Tina Kabatoff and Mary Kiszka as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents Sam and Polly and his sisters Lena Koolick and Alice Korolchuk and brothers in law Gus Koolick, Nick Kabatoff and Joe Kiszka.
Mike was born on the family farm in Marcelin. He married his, sweetheart, Susie in 1946 and they farmed the family farm. From there they moved to Saskatoon and then to Marriott where they ran a General Store until fire destroyed it. After loosing everything, they moved back to Saskatoon and then to Hanley with four children in 1963 where they started farming again. While on the farm Mike also worked at the Patience Lake Potash Mine and for a while, drove school bus. After retiring from the farm Mike and Susie moved to Saskatoon, with their 5th child, in 1978. Mike and Susie drove school bus in the city until retirement. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Paul's Hospital for the exceptional care they gave dad in this past month.
