Milan Duke jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 28, 2025.
Milan "Bubba" Duke Jr., 65, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on September 15, 1959, in St. Augustine, Milan spent his life in the community he cherished. Known affectionately as "Bubba" by his family and friends, he was a devoted father, brother, and friend whose strength, humility, and quiet generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Bubba proudly dedicated many years of service to the Florida East Coast Railway and later to the Florida Department of Transportation, where his work ethic and reliability earned the respect of his colleagues.

He is survived by his two sons, Holden Duke (Taylor) and Hunter Duke (Sydney); his loving sisters, Sharon Adams and Barbara Pearson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Milan Duke, whom he loved dearly.

Bubba will be remembered for his deep love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors, and his unfailing sense of humor. He was also a passionate fan of Gator Baseball and the Atlanta Braves-rarely missing a game and always cheering on his teams with pride.

A celebration of his life will be held on August 9th at 12 noon at the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club. All who knew and loved Bubba are welcome to attend and share in honoring his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to simply carry forward Bubba's legacy by cherishing your loved ones and living each day with quiet strength and kindness

Missing my Bubba Duke

Already strange to not see Bubba outside on his porch when I come through the neighborhood. Although we weren't close, he always was there to support me and come to any events I had. I'll always remember his quick wit and great laugh in the small moments we shared throughout my childhood till now.
And once I moved away, I always loved to hear the stories mom would share with me about the happenings in the neighborhood. He brought a light to Deerwood in his own special way; a presence that's already missed greatly.
Thinking of all Bubba's loved ones and wishing you all peace during this time.

Bubba you are already dearly missed!!
We have great memories, but my favorite is you coming over to see Andy´s 67 F100 after its first ride around the block!
I´m gonna miss our conversations, and seeing you laugh at my jokes. I´m gonna miss seeing you sit on your porch with yours grand-dogs, and waving as I take Alfie to school!! You never heard it but Alfie always said hi Bubba!

Holden, Hunter, and beautiful brides, we send our deepest condolences and want you to know we´re always here for you!

Rest in peace neighbor!!
With love,
Jenny, Andy, and Alfie Greene

Bubba loved Gator Baseball and the Atlanta Braves. Bubba and I were blessed to attend games at home and on the road. We had some fun times, met wonderful people, watched some good baseball, ate some good food, but most of all we became good friends and made memories. It's not good bye my friend. It's see you again brother, when its my time to leave this old world and move up on high.
