Mildred Fellows Obituary

Mildred Fellows, 96, of Springfield, Mo., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, 2007, in Maranatha Village, Springfield, Mo. She was born April 14, 1911, in Polk County, to Eugene and Irene (Warren) Cowden. She accepted Christ as Savior at an early age, and in her later years, attended Praise Assembly of God Church for as long as her health permitted. In 1934, she married Audie "Buster" Fellows, who passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Jo Parsons. Mildred loved her family. Her greatest pleasures were family get-togethers and visiting with friends. She is survived by a daughter, Georgiana Grant and her husband, John, of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Candace Chandler, Springfield, Kenna Garrison and husband, Brent, Springfield, Brent Parsons and wife, Lisa, Bixby, Okla., John Nathan Grant and wife, Angela, Springfield, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren; devoted cousin, Betty Bates; former son-in-law, Kenneth Parsons and wife, Mary Ann; special friends, Charles and Barbara Goss; and many other treasured friends and relatives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Maranatha Manor and to Seasons Hospice who gave Mildred such wonderful loving care and support. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, Mo., with Rev. Michael Kanai officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery, Polk, Mo. Visitation will be held this evening, August 15, 2007, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
