Think of Millie so often! She taught Greg and I so much about animal welfare and government interactions. Millies contributions and long term activism is why TN is as progressive as it is with spay neuter laws and availability! When I see successful low cost spay neuter clinics I think of Millies dedication to making the law changes happen so these clinics could come into being! Her wisdom and guidance are missed as we continue to advocate for animals! Thinking of you, Al, during this anniversary also!

Mr. Evans,
You have our deepest sympathy. We know how important Mrs. Evans was in your life and your care and support during these last few years must have brought her great comfort. Your time together was quite special, 55 years, and while this makes the loss so very painful, we do believe that your closeness and warm memories will bring you comfort. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
We love you, Larry and Gayle

Al, Millie was a true Visionary and Patriot whose compassionate and capable heart and hands made a huge difference in the lives of animals and her fellow citizens. Her years of volunteerism and activism will never be forgotten. With her many years of physical and administrative work on behalf of spay/neuter education, Millie saved 1000's of lives of animals because they were never born and could never suffer the injustice of neglect or overpopulation. I am so glad that our children got to know her and understand what a difference she made in Rutherford County and this world. Millie blessed us with her time by mentoring Greg and myself over the years and we are grateful for her time and knowledge that she shared. In the last few years, her concern for American Citizen's rights put her at the forefront of political events and Greg and Millie had several lengthy discussions about her concerns for America's future. Millie was one of those great Americans who were behind the scenes making a difference in her local community! Her loss leaves a true void in the this world in many ways. Our hearts are heavy over her loss. Our deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort are sent to you Al.

Al:
I was reviewing the obituaries for a friend of mine when I saw Millie's obituary in the daily news Journal. I couldn't help but think how far back you and I, Millie and Betty went in our relationships as married couples. In case you have forgotten, we met in 1961 at the apartments off of Nashville highway. That's over 55 years ago and that's a long relationship between married couples. I have recently gone through what you will be faced with during the next year and there's no way that I can explain the turmoil that will take place during the next year, but you will eventually be able to accept the loss of your partner for over 55 years. I just want to offer my condolences and express the feelings that you are now having, which I experienced after January 11, 2014, will slowly, and sometimes you will feel too slowly, will subside and you will be able to continue without your companion.
