Peter D Aglione
Yesterday
I was employed as Director of Pharmacy at the Hebrew Homes in 1961-1962, splitting my time between the West 106th Street location and the Kingsbridge Road location.I was their very first pharmacist and I had to build one from scratch.
Mitchell Waife was the CEO and a very kind and talented gentleman. He was assisted by Mina Adler Stern, a lovely administrator to whom I reported. Dr. Bernstein, MD was the chief of the medical staff.

Dear Adele,
I will never forget our foursome with you and Mitchell in our Florida retirement: going to the plays at Florida stage, taking cruises together, enjoying going out to dinner, enjoying life. And I will never forget how Mitch helped my Dad in troubled times. Or the special bond forged between Mitch and Harry. His many friends here truly miss him.

Oh Mitch
It feels like only yesterday that you hired me for my first social work job and deepened the warm relationship Jacob and I maintained with you and Adele for far too few years
A star has dimmed with your passing.

Mitch Waife was the Executive Director of the Jewish Home when it, along with over twenty other agencies joined to establish SPOP, The Service Program for Older People. We received grants, over four years, that started our group therapy program from JHHA. May his memory be a blessing.
David Feldstein, Founding Executive Director, SPOP
