I only had the pleasure of meeting Mona once. I was a friend of her daughter Robin. My husband( boyfriend at the time). Went out to dinner Hilltop Steakhouse in 1981. Mona and Bob had come to visit Robin in Boston and that´s where we went for dinner.
The Kozlen´s were a lovely family. In later years I spoke to Mona after Robin´s passing.
Mona was a very optimistic and caring person.

We have lost another of the founding members of "The Barrack's". She was one of the greats from The Greatest Generation who always gave her time and support to hundreds of kids. I have had the pleasure to grow up with the Kozlen's and have 53 years of good memories. When your dad was marking the fields for a game, your mom was starting the fire for hot dogs, hamburgers, and making popcorn. Many time we came up to order something and she gave us our food but never took our money. She said "It's my treat" When my dadand sister died she gave us words of comfort because your dad was at a loss for words as tears rolled down his face. You know that when she arrived she was met by all of those who came before her. All of the J.B. friends, her family, your dad and Robin. I remember the games at Matthews Field and the end of the night when your dad would tell her to turn of the lights, lock the door ,and let's go home. Thanks for the memories.
