Morde Lupatkin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 10 to Jan. 17, 2015.
Morde Lupatkin
1923 ~ 2015

Born Feb. 15, 1923, the son of an immigrant tailor, Morde Lupatkin grew up on Fordham Road in the Bronx and went on to serve his country in Europe in WWII. After his honorable discharge he completed his college education at The University of Missouri.
He then met and married Theresa Goldsweig and together they started life in Switzerland where Morde attended the University of Zurich School of Medicine, tackling the tough curriculum that was taught in Swiss-German, a language that was previously unknown to him.
After Morde graduated he and Terry moved to Westchester County. He was a small-town doctor with a big heart at a simpler time when doctors carried black bags, still made house calls and treated mothers, fathers, their sons and daughters and their sons and daughters.
Dr. Lupatkin touched the lives of many in Eastchester and the surrounding area.
He was often thought of as part of his patients' families. He died in his sleep on January 7th, just one month shy of his 92nd birthday. He will be greatly missed.
Dr. Lupatkin is survived by his children Barbara Maw, Bruce Lupatkin and Linda Lupatkin and his grandchildren.
A private service will be held on Sunday in what has been his recent beloved home, Park City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice in Morde's name.

Our deepest condolences to the family from cousins Bill and Helene Mathis of St. Louis, Mo. There are many good times and stories from decades past of which Terry and Morde were a part and which we cherish to this day.

Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Dr. Lupatkin personally, by the previous entries, it is apparent that he was loved by many. May his compassionate legacy bring comfort to those who mourn him along with the hope of seeing him again (John 5:25, 26, 28, 29b).

Linda, Bruce and Barbara,

May your Dad rest in peace. I will always have fond memories of him since I spent so much time at your house growing up. He was a wonderful man, lived a long and happy life, and was very proud of each of you. I felt lucky to be part of your "extended" family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

This was my beloved cousin .We grew up together and we love him. He was so proud of his family and their achievements. I shall miss our telephone conservations. Although we were physically separated we were very close. My condolences to his children, my first cousins once removed.

When my daughter was a baby I called the dr ( he did not see babies) and after I cried he said bring her over. He had just gotten the office painted. As soon as we got there my daughter christened the place with projectile grape juice. After he calmly took care of her he said with a straight face looking around " gail this is why I don't see babies". Ps he kept her as a patient until I found someone else I was comfortable with. ( the search for a doctor was my problem which he understood) he took care of your medical needs and emotional ones. A great person. Sorry for your loss.

What found memories I get when I remember your father. Dr. Lupatkin was a great man with a warm smile and a gentle demeanor whose compassion and caring was the characters of a great doctor. May you find comfort in your memories for he will be remembered by many! with Deepest Sympathy the Masucci Family
