Just read, with sadness, of Morry's passing.I have a powerful childhood memory of this former neighbor. It was July 31, 1960. My seventh birthday. About one hour before I was going to make my professional show business debut on The Ricky and Copper Show. Before the family went over to the Channel 4 studios, I had to take one more spin on my brand new Schwinn. Out of nowhere, Gindler's dog attacked the front wheel, and I was launched over the handlebars. Concussed and out cold for several seconds, I came to with the sun blinding me. Then, something completely blocked the sun's rays, putting my face in cool shade. It was Morry's head. He had seen me go down, and raced out of the house. He cradled my head, and spoke to me in such a calm, reassuring voice. Thanks to him, I made the taping of that popular TV show. Somewhere in WTAE's archives, you can find tape of me sitting on a fake log, crooning "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" while sporting a lump over my left eye the size of a gerbil.
I extend my deepest sympathies to his family.
