Muriel L. Boyd, 91, of Spearman, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. Graveside services will be on Saturday, July 31, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Byron Potter officiating. Viewing will be at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman on Thursday, July 29, 2021, 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Muriel was born on December 13, 1929 in Yale, Ok to Oscar and Sylvia McKaughn Boyd. Granville and Muriel Boyd were married on January 7, 1974 in Spearman, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spearman. She was involved in many community clubs, the Pink Lady and Gladiola Flower Club. She worked with Hospice for 25 years and worked with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and First Families of Oklahoma. Muriel was a wonderful cook and she loved working with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a granddaughter, Mindi.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Granville Boyd of Spearman; son, Larry Fryer and wife, Patti, of Brownfield, TX; daughter, Donna and husband, Wesley Brinkley of Liberal, KS; two granddaughters, Amanda and husband, Chase Brewster and Traci and husband, John Mettlen of Liberal, KS. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Brianne Werner, Zane Werner, Zahn Werner, Jacob and Hannah Mettlen, Joel Mettlen, and Jensen Mettlen.
The family suggests memorial be in her memory to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081.
