Myrtle Olive Kelley (née Olafson), 100, of Blackduck, MN died on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society Senior Living Center in Blackduck, MN.

Myrtle was born on December 12, 1923 in Moose Park Township, the daughter of Roy and Carrie (Westrum) Olafson. She attended a one-room schoolhouse near Blackduck before moving to Grand Rapids for high school, then setting off to St. Louis by way of Minneapolis as a young adult. There she met Carl, whom she married on November 25, 1944. She worked for Carter Carburetor until shifting gears to manage her home and raise her sons. Later in life she worked at JCPenney while pursuing her passion for genealogy, sharing her love of family history with anybody who would listen.

Myrtle is survived by her son, Keith Kelley of St. Louis, MO, along with 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Kelley, and sons Roger (Suzann), Gary, and Randy.

Myrtle will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Carl, at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, with a private gathering of family and friends on Friday, August 1, 2025.
