Myrtle Joyce Simpson passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, in Lampasas, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on January 30, 1935, in San Saba County, Texas to Jack and Virginia Morgan.

Upon graduating from Mason High School in Mason, Texas, she married Wilford "Boots" Simpson on March 6, 1953 in Brady, Texas. Together, they welcomed three children into the world, and were married until his death in 2014.

Myrtle was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church of Llano, Texas. Her role as a homemaker, housewife, and mother was one she embraced. She flourished with the birth of her grandchildren. She was a doting grandmother, always ready with an open heart and a listening ear.

Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Hubert (Patricia) and J.R.(Linda) Morgan, and a great-grandson, William Pace Haviland.

She is survived by her son Vernon, (Lisa) Simpson, daughters Ginnie, (Alan) Lynn, and Debra Graham; her grandchildren, Orin Simpson, Liz (Steve) Haviland, Matt (Melissa) Carroll, Rebekah (Aron) Franklin, Morgan (John) Busby, Christine (Michael) Green, Richard (Jennifer) Lynn, Marissa (Ben) Yeary, and Kirk (Jessica) Graham, honorary grandson, Bill (Claudia) Tuckness, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home in Llano, Texas on Monday, February 12, 2024 with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Huffman Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Orin Simpson, John Busby, Richard Lynn, Ben Yeary, Kirk Graham, and Bill Tuckness.
