N. June Good, 104, of Dayton, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born at home a century ago, March 22, 1909, in Snyderville, Wayne Township, Armstrong County, the last surviving child of George and Mary (Bussard) Clever. June was born and raised in Snyderville. She married James P. Good, who died in January, 1971, and they worked together as the proprietors of the Good Hotel along Main St. in Dayton. She never married again after Jim's death, advising people she didn't see anyone she liked better than him. June was the oldest living member of the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, where she participated in the Missionary Ladies Group. June was also a member of the Dayton Grange for more than 81 years, and an active member of the Dayton Senior Center, often entertaining the other members with her musical talents. In the span of her 104 years, June touched many lives with her warm personality and sweet disposition. An independent woman with a strong work ethic, June told many she worked hard all her life and that's why she lived such a long and good life and able to remain active well over age 100. June would often be seen around Dayton with her canes in tow, walking to the bank or the post office. June loved music, and could play the ukulele and piano by ear since early childhood. She shared her beautiful musical talents often with area nursing homes and senior citizen gatherings. Her Hawaiian dance will remain a fond memory for many Dayton residents. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and she looked forward to visits from her grandchildren. She will long be remembered as a caring soul with a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed by her three grandsons, James A. Kerr and his wife, Mariellen, of Pittsburgh, Robert S. Kerry and his wife, Pam, of McMurray, and John W. Kerr and his wife, Jennifer, of Pittsburgh; three great-grandsons, Dan Elzer and his wife, Nicole, Tyler Kerr and Colin Kerr; two great-granddaughters, Rachel L. Bucki and her husband, Greg, and Madison Kerr; her great-great-granddaughter, Allison Bucki; her great-great-grandson, Ethan Elzer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James P. Good; her daughter, Miriam "Mimi" Kerr; three brothers, Kenneth Clever, Clair Clever and Harry Clever; and four sisters, Iva Doverspike, Nora Blake, Mabel Bowser and Margaret Schrecengost.
