Ruth Marie (Kruse) Spitzer, 90, of Brenham, widow of Arnie Spitzer, died in a Bryan hospital Saturday, February 27, 2010. Born September 2, 1919 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Herbert and Mary Etta (Sanders) Kruse, she graduated from Brenham High School. On June 5, 1936, she married Arnie Spitzer. She was a receptionist, having retired from Walmart. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Judy and John Seligman, Sunne Wheaton, and Molly Arndt; grandchildren: Jennifer Grimm-McGinley and husband Jess, Jill Arndt, Chase Wheaton and fiancée Haylee Koonce, and great-grandchildren Taylor Grimm, and Logan Grimm. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Arnie Spitzer, brother and sister-in-law, Herbert Jr. and Bernice Kruse, and a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria Ann and Murl Reynolds. A memorial service for Ruth Marie Spitzer will be held Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Dr. Ken Baldwin, officiant. Memorials may be directed to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P. O. Box 515, North Hampton, MA 01061-0515, or to a favorite charity.
