A heartbreaking personal loss for myself, my wife, Susan, and my colleagues in Pitt's Office of Public Affairs. I used to enjoy talking with Nancy in the halls, lobby, and elevator of Craig Hall and always felt her genuine warmth and humanity, and she'd been of great assistance to Susan, and myself on more than one occasion. She was truly one of the finest people Susan and I had come in contact with at Pitt, and we shall feel her loss profoundly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this most difficult time.

Dear Art and Family,
I was so sorry to read about Nancy this morning. I have known Nancy for at least 35 years. We worked together on the Senate Benefits Committee many years ago. She was always so helpful and such a nice person. Everyone I run into in the Business School is shocked and saddened by her loss. It was just a few months ago that I was last in touch with her. She helped me with a TIAA-CREF matter related to my partner's death.
It is always terrible to lose a loved one, but especially so suddenly and so young.
You are all in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time. I hope it is of some comfort to know how much Nancy was loved and respected at Pitt.
