Nancy Kuster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 23, 2011.
Kuster, Nancy M. (Nee Thurber) Returned to her Lord on Jan. 21, 2011, at age of 69. Beloved wife and friend for 50 years to John R. Kuster. Loving and caring Mom to Linda (Edward) Drezdzon, Susan (Charles) Benjamin, Mary (Robert) Grell, Michael (fiancée Tracy Yannias) and Robert (Kelly). Cherished Grammy and Mimi to Monica (fiance Jose), Robert, Andy, Adam, Melissa, Sara, Michael and E.J. Special great-grandma to Wesley. Precious daughter of Gerry Thurber. Preceded in death by her dear father, William Thurber. Survived by wonderful relatives and friends who were so supportive in her 9 year battle with multiple myeloma. Thanks to Dr. Hari and his wonderful staff at the Froedtert Cancer Center for their care and compassion. Nancy was always caring for others through her church prayer group and her service to the community. She was a great comfort to all of those around her. She knew that banana bread and prayer could make almost any situation better. Nancy was very proud of her calling to serve as past president of the Christian Women's group at St. Anthony's parish in Menomonee Falls. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00PM Tue., Jan. 25, 2011, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S 7th Ave., West Bend, with Fr. Jeff Haines presiding. Visitation will at the church only on Tue., Jan. 25, from 9:30AM until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, Nancy has requested donations to the Digestive Disease Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin, 8701 Watertown Plank Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53226; or the Froedtert Hospital Foundation-Cancer Center, 9200 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53226. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family (262) 338-2050 www.phillipfuneralhome.com

Nancy was a wonderful friend and she'll be greatly missed. She showed all of us a faith-filled battle with her myeloma. I am in awe of the way she handled all her 'glitches' with the determination to overcome each and every one of them. All the good memories will keep her alive in our hearts.

John and Family,

Please accept my condolences on Nancy's passing. A majority of my memories originate at Nathan Hale HS where Nancy was my friend and confidant. Her ever cheerful face helped me through many a crisis! Be assured, Nancy is with "God" and free of all pain and discomfort. Can we ask for more? My prayers are with the family.
