Nancy Marie Roosevelt

Nancy Marie Roosevelt (nee Berrien), 75, most recently of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on December 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Daughter to the late Daniel H. and Marie G. Berrien, Nancy was born on February 3, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she spent her early childhood. Later, Nancy moved with her family to Ridley Park, the town where she eventually married and raised her children. In 2004, Nancy moved to the State College area, where she lived first in Julian and later, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.

Nancy is lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, whose life was a reflection of her love of family, her strong work ethic, and her deep and abiding faith in Jesus. She is remembered by all who were blessed to know her for her kindness, generous nature, thoughtfulness, humility, and true servant's heart.

She is survived by her four children: Wendy D'Angelo (Len), Erin Roosevelt (Brittany), John Roosevelt (Dayna), and Marie Fisher (Paul). Nancy also leaves twelve beautiful grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings: Thomas Berrien, Hewitt Berrien and Pamela Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Marie Berrien.

Nancy was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, Class of 1966. She worked hard her entire life, both at home and in a variety of customer service and administrative positions. Nancy retired from School Annual Publishing Company in State College, PA, in 2019 after many years of dedicated service.

In her early years, Nancy was a member of Ridley Park United Methodist Church. Later, she was an active member of Faith Reformed Baptist Church in Media, PA. Most recently, she attended Bald Eagle Baptist Church in Julian, PA.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed tending her garden, watching Phillies' games, spending time with her family, and studying scripture.

Nancy brought quiet grace and gentle dignity to even the smallest tasks, helping whenever she could without ever seeking praise or credit. Her humility and sweet nature brought light to each life she touched.

All are encouraged to attend a memorial service in honor of Nancy's life on her birthday, February 3, 2024, from 1-3 pm at Ridley Park United Methodist Church in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.

In a final act of selflessness, Nancy elected to donate her body to science. It was her desire that in doing so, researchers might further progress the development of a cure for the disease with which she suffered- Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to Compassion International.
