Navdeep Singh Gill

Navdeep Singh Gill was born on November 22, 1967 to late Sarwan Singh Gill and late Jaswant Kaur Gill in village Mehna, Punjab, India. He was the youngest of three siblings. Navdeep was seven years old when his family immigrated to Canada and he grew up in Elkford, British Columbia. Navdeep was a brilliant student and enjoyed boxing and wrestling while in high school. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Calgary, and then continued on to attend medical school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He completed his medical residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at Queens University in Kingston. Navdeep met his wife Kiran in 1996, and they were married soon after in 1997. They moved to Philadelphia in 1999 where he attended the University of Pennsylvania to complete his fellowship in Gastro-Intestinal Pathology. He had a passion for pathology and a desire to see the discipline flourish.
Navdeep and Kiran have two children, Arjun and Rhea. He was a caring father and a loving husband who adored his wife and children. He loved reading, sailing, swimming, playing chess with the kids, and spending time on the beach with his family. He spent his free time watching movies and TV shows, especially Forrest Gump, Bond movies, Good Eats, Burn Notice, and the History Channel. He enjoyed American football and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, brother and sister. Navdeep was much loved and will be forever missed by us all.
