Dear Loved Ones,
Neil was always a warm and caring man who made everyone smile with his great sense of fun and humor. Whenever the Duerbeck family came home to the states from our assignments overseas, Neil always made us feel so welcome, like we were truly part of the Wisconsin family.
I appreciated his sincerity and warmth and his way of being so down to earth. He and Arlyne were the perfect team, and we miss them both so much and like you, we always will.
Thank you Neil, for being the wonderful husband you were to our sweet Arlyne.
You were the loving father to Terri, David and Gary, the amazing grandfather to all your grandchildren, and a dear friend to all of us! May you rest in peace and enjoy what heaven has to offer!
All our love, Jeanne,Ron, Jon, Eric and Lauren

Our sympathy and prayers to the Hoffman family. Some of the fondest memories of Neil are of his many trips to the farm to pickup the cans of milk which he hauled to the Ventura Cheese Factory and later Grande Cheese. Neil was instrumental in getting me on the Mayville Jr Rifle team during my teen age years that resulted in trips to the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal Sport Show to compete with teams from around the State. Neil will be missed but not forgotten.

Thoughts and prayers to the Hoffman family. When someone passes on from our past, we begin to think back through our memories. The fond memories of baseball in the field, model airplanes flying, rockets blasting off, fireworks in the air, and discussions at the picnic table and on the porch! I can close my eyes and see the big truck backing in next to the barn by the church. These memories are mine, always there when I want them, and never forgotten. You never know who you will impact in your life, so as Neil did, live life on your terms, do things your way, and LAUGH A LOT! Thanks for those lessons. RIP Neil.

Neal was a great older brother; I loved him! He named me "salwe" the day I was baptised and that name struck throughout my lifetime. I am Sally and I am a one-year younger sister than Neal. I thank Neal for allowing me to tag along with him and his buddies wherever he went all his life. We went fishing and hunting, swimming and skating, driving to grade school in a Model T Ford and to High School in a maroon Mercury convertible; he included me in all his activities. It gave me confidence and acceptance into his world; that is a good thing for a younger sister. Neal was a good brother, a gentle soul, a good son, a good father and husband. I will pray for you and your family, Neal, and I hope that we will be blessed to meet again, as God promised, when we are reunited in Heaven some day. I love you and will miss you, Sally

Heaven must have needed some bad dad jokes and a few hearty laughs for the party considering the Fathers God is calling home. Our sympathies! Hugs and support are available :)

Hoffman Family......there are no words to convey how sorry I am for the loss of your extraordinary, humorous father! He and your mother, Arlyne, were our closest, best friends! I will always keep those happy memories in my heart!
Neil........we are so thankful we got to visit you and say our goodbyes in person. You were in pain, but still had your funny, dry sense of humor. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers old friend. Rest In Peace!
Love, Lee Lehner and Ann Lehner
