Nelson Decker Obituary

Nelson E. Decker, 86, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2013; surrounded with love from his two daughters Janie L. Jefferies, of Lancaster, Penn., and Pamela S. Asplundh of Pipersville, Penn., by his side.  
Nelson was born in Bellevue, Ohio to Calvin Decker and Gladys Meyer Decker on Sept. 24, 1926. 
Nelson attended the Air Force Academy as a young man.  After leaving the academy he went to work as an engineer for Cadillac, a Division of GMC Motors in Cleveland, Ohio, till he departed to work for Eaton, Yale and Towne as an Engineer in Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Huntingdon Valley, Penn., where he served as an usher.  Nelson was a member of Mensa International; and in his retirement he moved to Naples, Fla., where he joined the Friendship Force of America. He traveled extensively spreading good will for America. You will be missed greatly.
 Nelson married his true love from first grade the late Janet L. Gibson Decker of Clyde, Ohio.  Nelson enjoyed a full life with his family and is survived by his two daughters Janie and Pamela along with his two sons-in-law, Harry Jefferies and Carl Asplundh; seven grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Laurian, Corey, Kyle, Gary and Tim; six great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Cummings of Casper, Wyoming; a brother Wilford Decker of Ft. Myers, Fla.: a sister-in-law Nora Gibson of Naples, Fla.; and his nephews and nieces.  
He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Louis Decker.
Rest in peace Dad and Pop-Pop.  You will always be remembered with the fondest of memories.  We Love You Forever. 
Services will be private. Nelson will be laid to rest next to his wife at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.  Arrangements were handled by Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
