Nettie Garrett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 30, 2024.
Conroe - Nettie Elizabeth Garrett, affectionately known as Sister Nettie, Mom, Grandma, and Mrs. Clause, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, in Conroe, Texas. Born on May 12, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to Ralph Lee Jr. and Waynama May Gould, Nettie was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout her life.

A devoted member of the Sweet Adeline's Group in Lubbock, Nettie's love for music and dance was evident in her passion for square dancing and her involvement in praise and worship at the Lighthouse Church in Slaton, Texas. Her portrayal of Mrs. Clause, alongside Santa, brought joy to countless children during the holiday season, reflecting her generous spirit. Nettie's faith was central to her life, and she actively shared it with youth church groups, nurturing their spiritual growth.

Nettie's family was her greatest treasure. She was a loving wife to Donnie Joe Garrett, with whom she shared 38 blessed years. She was a sister to her brothers, Steve and Lynn, and a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews. Nettie was a devoted mother to Rhoan Faber and his wife Jada, Harold Faber and his partner Rhonda, and Valessa Proctor and her husband Steve. Her grandchildren, Brianna Moats, Andrew Faber, Leland Faber, Austin Proctor, Madison Faber, and Megan Faber, were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment with them.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother Steve, Nettie leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lighthouse Church in Slaton, Texas, to support their mission. Nettie's spirit now rests in the embrace of the Lord, her journey through faith complete.

A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Church, 1010 S 21st St, Slaton, Texas.

My first day working at XFab she was the sweetest person and she was ready for me to start working with her we became closer and closer as time passes I would talk to her about everything she never judged me and she always gave me advice and the when retired I remember her coming up to work to grab some boxes and I carried them out to her car and she gave me a hug and we both started to cry I miss her so much she has taught me so much she is truly one of the greatest people I have ever met I love u Mrs. Nettie
