Nina Mae Randall, age 102, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. She was surrounded by family as "Benediction" by People and Songs played softly in the background. Nina was born July 24, 1918 in Lansing, Michigan to Maude (Scott) and Montie Hutson during the Spanish Influenza epidemic; she was the middle of three children. After the Great Depression, Nina and her late husband Charles Randall sacrificed and worked diligently to eventually own several successful businesses including an appliance repair business, laundromat, and restaurant. She frequently passed her knowledge of business and acute sense of fashion on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her great-granddaughters often played dress-up in her closet. She loved to entertain guests and cherished hosting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at her home on Algonquin Lake, where the children would routinely fish, swim, and play. From her birth to her death she nourished the people around her with love, humor, and guidance. Nina was the family's "Queen Bee". She had a fiery personality and was fiercely independent. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. Nina was a great, but risky euchre partner; always willing to gamble by "poking" the deck and making risky calls. Her macaroni and cheese and potato salad were iconic staples at family gatherings, always requiring seconds or thirds. Until her late 90's, she would frequently go dancing at Country Fever in her leather pants and hot pink high heels, and would never fail to remind her family, "Don't tell Sissy!" Nina loved hot-pink nail polish and lipstick, often citing her beloved saying, "a little powder and paint makes a lady what she ain't". Left to honor Nina and remember her love and enthusiasm for life are her daughter Judy Bishop (Sissy); brother-in-law Clarence Parker; seven grandchildren: Mike (Laura) Bishop, Monty Bishop, Herbert (Diane) Bishop III, Laura (Kipp) Wachman, Charlie Randall, Kristen Randall, Jaime Randall; twelve great-grandchildren, twenty-six great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Randall, sister Bernice (Hutson) Parker, brother Donald Hutson, son Charles Randall Jr., and son-in-law Herbert Leon Bishop Jr. Nina will be remembered for shining her light brightly and passionately. In remembrance of Nina Mae Randall's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to All Species Kinship and Heartland Hospice. A memorial in her honor will be held in the spring of 2021. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

Nina was our neighbor for over 20 years. She was filled with enthusiastic Energy. She Loved to Dance and show off her Dance moves. Toasting to a Glass of Wine. We Celebrated Birthdays and Holidays. Shared memories and Laughed a lot.
Pink was her color, from her shoes to her nails. Loving to dress up and line dance and maybe a two step or two. How she Loved Her Judy. She looked forward to there visits. Sometimes Nina would say They say it might get bad tonight so I'll have Judy come get me.. so we can spend more tome together. I lost my boy and I will spend my time with my Girl.

Sorry for your loss, loved this lady. Aunty Nina was my mom Marie's cousin and my dad's half brother so we're double related. I remember the lake, house on Waverly Road the laundromat and so many fun times spent with her and my uncle. Special kind of lady.
