Norah Mastrandea Obituary
Born May 30, 2005 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of John and Colleen (Scullion) Mastrandea.
Norah was currently a third grade student at Stuarts Draft Elementary. She participated and enjoyed playing softball and basketball for the Stuarts Draft Recreation League and dance lessons at the Staunton Academy of Ballet. On any day she could be found putting together puzzles, building with Legos, fishing, horseback riding at her grandparents, Bill and Kathy Scullion's home or playing with her friends that she cherished very much. Norah's smile, laughter and out-going personality will forever be missed.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her sister, Annabelle Mastrandea; maternal grandparents, Bill and Kathy Scullion of Waynesboro; paternal grandparents, John and Barbara Mastrandea of West Henrietta, NY; aunts, Christine Littlefield and husband, Doug of Rochester, NY and Michele Moschettieri and husband, Mike of Spencerport, NY; uncle, Maj. James Scullion and wife, Maren of El Paso, TX; cousins, Matthew Moschettieri, Jonathan Littlefield, Mike, Joe and Samantha Moschettieri, Clare, Joseph and Audrey Scullion; as well as many friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Waynesboro, with Fr. Rolo Castillo officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Botkin, George Cox, Mike Moschettieri, Maj. James Scullion and Doug Littlefield.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to CureSearch for Children's Cancer, 4600 East-West Highway, Suite 600, Bethesda, MD 20814 or The MaDee Project, 15 Park Blvd., Staunton, VA 24401.

John, Colleen and Annabelle - My heart ached for you at Mass today when I heard about the loss of your beautiful Norah. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I met your lovely family through Dr. visits at the office I worked. Even though I did not know Nora, it was instantly clear that her great courage and amazing spirit you told me about, came from blessings of your Christian parental guidance and much sister love. I am so sorry for you experiencing the loss of your Norah. No words can ever express how profound this must be. I was not able to attend the viewing due to work but did attend the Funeral.
It was such a sweet celebration of Norah's new birth today at St. John's. Your sweet message Colleen, seeing the love between you and John was all so touching. Annabelle did an amazing job reading her Scripture and looked so beautiful. The whole service was such an array of kindness, hope and love! Colleen and family, Although we didn't know Norah long she has made such an imprint on our hearts. So, so sorry for your loss! It is heartbreaking I know, we lost a child at the age of 5 years, it's such a tragedy! They are angels God needs evidently!! We will see them again!!!
