Norma Wasmer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2025.
Norma Wasmer (Cherry), 77, of New Holstein passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

Norma married the love of her life, David Wasmer, and they spent 53 years building a life full of love and memories. Norma's life was marked by deep connections with her family and a legacy that spans generations. She was a devoted mother to Troy Wasmer (Sarah), Tracey Wasmer, Tina (Kenny) Alfson, Tim Wasmer (Beth), and Nicole Wasmer (Zack). Her love and guidance extended to her grandchildren-Alicia, Jake, Sadie, Kaitlyn, Paige, Colton, Aaron, Lydia, Megan, Ella, Abigail, Emeri, and Eliot-who brought her immense joy throughout the years. Norma was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Conner, Brayden, Carter, Natalee, Leland, Serenity, BrynLee, Emberlynn, Logan and Ashton.

Norma carried the memory of her late daughter Tammie and son-in-law Ross Hoffmann in her heart and honored their legacy through the strength and unity of her family. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brother, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Norma's journey from her birthplace in California to her final days in New Holstein reflects a life lived with strength, resilience and grace. Those who knew her will remember she loved to dance and had a passion for researching family genealogy. She had a sense of humor, sassy spirit and she gave unwavering support to those around her.

A special thank you to the staff at Calumet County Hospice especially Colleen and Amanda for their compassionate care.

Per Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.

I treated Norma for many months following her stroke several years ago. We shed many tears and laughter and I will never forget how steadfast and resilient she and Dave were while striving to work through troubled waters. She was a gem of a human and I continued to connect and share some laughs with her even though we became separated by miles. Rest in peace our angel. Make 'em laugh up there...

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Norma, a wonderful friend, Dave and the entire family during this time of grief and loving memories.
I will always find joy and smile when I think of Norma. On one of her visits with Dave to us here in Florida we went on an airboat ride through the Everglades. Her expressions, laughter, fear and joy will be etched in my mind forever. It was a fun-filled, great adventure.
May she Rest In Peace!

Norma,
I will always cherish our conversations and boy I loved your laughter. You always will hold a special place in my heart for you. Robb would say at family gatherings early on in our relationship- Norma always made me feel welcomed.
I will always remember good times we had together. Our vacation together to Lake Winnibigoshish in Minnesota. That was so much fun!
Love you forever! Cindy and Robb Papendieck
