I was deeply saddened to learn of Norm's passing. We were close friends in the 60's and 70's and my partner Ben Kaye and I were thrilled when he recorded one of our tunes 'Vagabond Prince' on his album "Easy"with Nat Raider. Norm was an outstanding artist who interpreted his songs with a passion and warmth sorely missed today. My profound condolences to the entire family.

Norman Brooks talent went beyond the Jolson sound, indeed,, there are many Jolson singers around but few performers had the appeal Norman had. He was boyish, polished, and classy. Anyone who saw Norman in a nightclub will remember his tremendous likability. And the soulful songs he wrote were beautiful. There was only one Norman Brooks, a consumate pro and a giving, loving soul. Rest in peace...Sweet, Sweet Prince.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Norman Brooks. I had the great honor of singing with him at one of his performances in NYC in the mid 1970's. Mr. Brooks invited me up to sing, and we then had a wonderful conversation that eventually influenced me to forge my own career. I will always be grateful to him for his advice and kindness, and will remember him as a great and classy performer, and a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace.

You may not remember me , but a long time ago, we used to hang around together . I used to come to your house Connie and Sandra , your father was always pleasant , and made me feel welcomed ! I remember him singing like Al Jolson, he had such a beautiful voice. It really saddens me to have read his obituary. May God give you strength !
