NORMAN DEASE Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix on Jun. 26, 2013.
NORMAN DEASE
1944 - 2013
Norman Eugene Dease passed away peacefully in Hudson Bay, SK, on Friday, June 21, 2013, with his family by his side after an 8 month battle with Leukemia at age 68. Norman was predeceased by parents Eugene & Mini, and his favourite dogs Matty and Simon. Norman is fondly remembered by wife Shari (nee Nygren); son Murray (Sara) Dease, and children Amelia & Sam of Saskatoon, SK; son Colin (Jennifer) Dease, and their son Jack of Calgary, AB; and daughter Melanie (Trent) Vanderlinde, and their children Gus & Georgia of Saskatoon, SK; brother Bernard Dease; sister Bev Erikson; and numerous relatives, many friends and neighbours.
Norman was born in Rose Valley, SK, and grew up in Archerwill, SK. At age 16, he set off and found work in logging, setting chokers near Kamloops, BC. Norman returned in 1968 and married Shari, and continued working in the logging industry. He bought his first skidder in 1970. Norman and Shari formed Dease Ent. in 1973, with Norman working as a logging contractor in Hudson Bay, SK for 30 years. Norm's favourite hobby was working; and he also had a "hobby" raising Red Angus cows. Recently Norm and Shari built a house near Saskatoon, SK, but the farm in Hudson Bay was always home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 2:00 P.M., in the Hudson Bay Legion Hall, Hudson Bay, SK, with Pastor Fred Buhler officiating. Interment will take place in the Hudson Bay Town Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Norm may be directed to the Hudson Bay Health Care Facility ~ Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 940, Hudson Bay, SK, S0E 0Y0. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.blairsfuneralhome.com.
