Norman Alvin Wells, 81, of Belton, Mo., passed away Oct. 16, 2011. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at McGilley & George Funeral Home 1. Visitation 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Contributions suggested to Alzheimer's or Grace Hospice. Norman was born Oct. 7, 1930, in Mountainburg, Ark., to Alvin and Rosie Wells. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a superintendent at the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a talented carpenter and a member of the VFW. For many years he had a summer home in Donna, Texas, where he enjoyed swimming, golfing, riding around in his golf cart and running the computer room for the Victoria Palms Resort. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond; sister, Helen and grandson, Christopher. Norman is survived by his wife of 61 years, Regina; daughters, Tina Stoltz of Chicago and Sharon Wheeler of Peculiar, Mo.; sisters, Hazel, Doris and Betty; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I did not see the obituary until today. I have often wondered what became of my father's side of the family and was surprised to find out that you were still living in this part of the country.
