Hi Dad, We had a great Easter. The absolute proof that you and mom are in heaven with Jesus. Jesus died so that we can have eternal life. Always believed that. Joni and I are doing well. She is wonderful and very smart. We are more than just brother and sister we are best friends. When I get up there I can't wait to tell you how grateful we are for you and Mom. And grateful to God for everything. Love you always, Jay

Hi Dad. Just thinking about you. I did close on the Dikeou Lot. Its doing great. Leased it out with Alpha Park. I cleaned it up just like you would have! it will be our best lot by far. We also sold my office and the lot next door. I'm moving this weekend. Had to throw in the gtx and cuda though :(. That is an unhappy face if you don't know in heaven. I'm sure nobody is ever unhappy there. Tell Mom I love her.

Hi Dad, its been 4 months since you left for Heaven. Joni and I are taking care of biz. We miss you and Mom so much. We can't wait to be together again. Your birthday is Sunday. I'm sure you would be looking forward to Joni's carrot cake and some black walnut ice cream! The bible says that you remember us when you are in Heaven, but you are not worried. You have Mom and Jesus, your parents too. I know Heaven is incredible, but I bet you wish you had your red convertible with you? Oh, you do! Lucky guy. You had it all on earth and now you have even more in Heaven. Truly Dad, you had so many friends and admirers. I didn't know. I will make sure your great, great grandkids will know all about you. Love you dad. Jay

Dear Grandpa,
I am so glad that I got to have you as my grandfather. You were such a great guy with a big heart. You taught me so much from how to wash a car, playing poker, and playing your favorite jazz tunes. I will never forget those times when we would go up to Dale's house for music lessons then go out to eat. We will miss you so much. But, I know I will see you again someday. By the way, I can't wait to drive your 1953 Hudson when it is done. I love you.
Love,
John

So much I want to ask you. So many things we still didnt get to do. We did get the Lot Dad, I'll be running it in January. It will never do as well as if you were running it. I won't be out there in the rain collecting the last Dog for sure. But, on opening day Dad, we will honor you on all your lots. "Rockies Greatest Fan" Never missed a game, never gave up on the Rocks. Uncle Johnny was a wonderful man, who was there for me whenever I needed him. I will never forget him. I can recall so many late night dinners after the auctions and of course all the family dinners as well. He's with Aunt Bev now and happy. Jay and Joni my thoughts are with you.

You will be Uncle John to me! As I read through the many experiences and encounters others had with you, I know you influenced many people for the better. I am thankful to have known you for 35 years. It is hard to think, you have stole away to be with your sweetheart. There is no words that can express the sorrow and sadness Jay, Joni, Ed, Betty, Blanche, and all the kids feel in your absence. There will be days for sorrow, but today I am grateful for the compassion you had, the work ethic you maintained, the commitment you had to friends, family, and business partners. Another man said it well, A big piece of History has been torn from the book of life. Love you uncle John! May the Lord keep you till we meet again. (((Hugs to all the family)))! I will keep you guys in my prayers.

John gave my father, Gene Hopkins the chance to live a life he loved working on antique cars; specifically Hudson's. Both John and my dad loved working on and driving them "ole' Hudsons" and sharing the great memories. I thank John and the Sonoff family for the opportuntiy they gave my father to do this. My condolences to the Sonoff family for thier loss.

Joni and Jay,
My prayers are with you during this very sad time. I have some wonderful memories of your Dad when I was growing up. Tap dancing in the garage, model airplanes and always wondering why you had so many "old" cars at your house! Your Dad will be missed, but certainly brought a lot of joy and happiness to those he met.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting Soneff's Master Garage gets the sense of what a legacy Mr. Soneff was. The garage is filled with polished antique auto's and a plethora of other interesting collectables including two rather creepy lifesize manicans that seem to watch you as you browse the endless sites.
I got to work for Mr. Soneff as a parking lot flagger at Johnny's Auto Park a couple of times. I was bugging him to work me more around the shop. He told me to talk to his wife, Beverly. "She's the boss" he said.
John was a man who loved his family deeply.
Warmest condolences to his children and grandchildren. May they hold close there fond memories of their father.

We are a Soneff family here in the Los Angeles area. John was the brother of my grandfather George, who died several years ago. I met John only once, about 10 years ago when we were on a summer trip with our two sons (John and Michael Soneff). We remember fondly John's warm hospitality, and my boys loved the cars. His garage reminded me of my granfather's metal shop; funny what kinds of things run in a family. We offer our deepest condolensces for your loss.

Knowing John as a part of the HET Club allowed me to have a better understanding how important John was to the HET community. I found him to be a man of many words, opinions, and helpful insights pertaining to the club. He will surely be missed and know that he is resting well in the Lords hands. My heart goes out to the Soneff family in their time of grief.
