With great sadness the family of Bill Hickey announces his peaceful death at his home in Burnaby. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Winefred, son Michael, daughter Maureen (Jim Tolerton), two granddaughters Ashley and Shaelynn, his brother Al Hickey and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in New Westminster, Bill worked for Canada Manpower for 35 years. He was a man with great dignity and a strong faith in God even when faced with insurmountable challenges. Special thanks to Dr. Mike Carkner, Burnaby Home Health and Saint Elizabeth Health Services for all of their care and support. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Michael's Parish, 9387 Holmes St. Burnaby with the reception to follow at St. Michael's Parish. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
