Barbara L. Lincoln

Barbara Larsen Lincoln, age 82, mother, aunt, volunteer, and friend passed peacefully on Monday, November 13th, 2017 at home in Newton, MA with family by her side. Barbara, born in Boston, MA on March 25th 1935 to George and Carolyn Larsen, along with twin brother, Thomas H. Larsen, was the youngest of four siblings including sister, Sally McAlpine and brother, Robert Larsen. Barbara grew up in Newton and cherished her summers in Chatham with friends. She graduated from Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, MA and Skidmore College with a degree in Economics. Barbara had a passion for travel, moving to San Francisco after college, then to New York to work in finance. Demonstrating her intrepid nature, she later traveled the world alone, visiting 26 countries and working in Hong Kong. Upon returning to the U.S., Barbara fulfilled her other dream of becoming a pilot. In 1966, Barbara married Rich ard K. Lincoln and had two children, Elizabeth and Thomas. After divorcing, she continued her career in finance, working for UBS Financial Services for almost three decades, where she found great joy in her work and with her colleagues. Upon her retirement at the age of 78, Barbara continued volunteering at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and the Newton Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Lincoln Chioffi of Boston, MA; her grandson, Cameron Chioffi of Ft. Collins, CO; and her brother Thomas Larsen of Weston, MA. The service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church at 76 Eldridge Street in Newton on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 AM.
