Olga Lachapelle Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2025.
Olga Lachapelle (ne Fischer), age 86, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at her home in Dresden, Maine, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 4, 1939, in Schury, Poland, Olga's life was full of creativity, faith, and unwavering love.

She was the cherished wife of the late Nelson Russell Lachapelle. Olga was predeceased by her parents, Marianne and Gotlieb Fischer; her brothers Eddie, John, Emile, Albert, and Peter Fischer; and her sister Trudy Fischer.

Her memory lives on through her daughter Julie Elizabeth Groleau; son-in-law Geoffrey Thomas Groleau; and granddaughter Alanna Marie Grace Groleau-who brought immense joy to her heart. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Wanda Turner and husband Wesley Turner; brother Richard Fischer and wife Linda Fischer; sisters-in-law Georgette Fiszer and Jean Lachapelle; and dear friend Penny Pomeroy. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends were touched by Olga's generous spirit.

A gifted artist at heart, Olga found beauty in every corner of life. She expressed herself through photography, painting, sewing, and song; her voice a soothing balm to those fortunate enough to hear it. Her love of travel reflected a soul ever curious and open to wonder.

Rooted deeply in faith, Olga moved through the world with strength, grace and compassion. Her radiant smile lit up rooms; her presence offered comfort like a warm embrace.

Olga Lachapelle will be remembered for the light she shone into the lives of others and the love she gave without condition. She leaves behind a legacy rich with warmth and beauty.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
