Funeral services for Opal L. Reeves will take place on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1pm at Town Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Taylor Glass, Mark Goss, Mike Goss, Brent DeGennaro, Dale Slack and Jimmy Miles. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, 6-8 at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 PARK AVE. SW AIKEN. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St. Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201 Mrs. Reeves, 88, of Aiken, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A daughter of the late Neal Warren and Mary Mitchell Warren, she was born in Seth, WV and had lived in Chesapeake, WV before moving to Aiken in 1954. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. During the 1970's, she had worked at Belks in the Aiken Mall. In her later years, Opal enjoyed watching sports events, especially the Atlanta Braves and Golf on TV with family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James A. Reeves, three sisters; Edna Anderson, Carrie Warren and Eva Miller, a brother; Lynn Warren and a daughter, Sandra Brown. She is survived by two daughters; Mary Reeves (Gary) Harris, Aiken and Patricia (Robert) Goss, Montmorenci, eight grandchildren; Mark (Michelle) Goss, Michael (Missy) Goss, Angela Brown, Kimberly Critchley, Elizabeth (Brent) DeGennaro, Melanie Sprinkle and Chris Brown and seven great grandchildren; Courtney Goss, Matthew Goss, Gracie Goss, Victoria Critchley, McKenna Critchley, Andrew De Gennaro, Jacob DeGennaro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
