Palmer (Swede) Sorensen Palmer (Swede) Sorensen passed March 25, 2014 at home in San Rafael, California. He was born in Eugene, Oregon November 4, 1925 son of Soren and Nettie Sorensen and raised on a cattle ranch west of Junction City, Oregon. He attended Junction City Union High School and was very active in sports, mainly football and baseball. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He saw action in the Solomon Islands, Marianas Islands (Saipan and Guam), and Okinawa campaigns. He received three purple hearts for wounds received in combat. After World War II, he attended the University of Oregon and completed his pre-law studies in 1950. After graduating from law school in San Francisco he received an appointment as a special agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He had assignments in Washington, D.C, Denver and Chicago. Swede was later employed with the Security Department of Pacific Bell until retirement. He then worked as an investigator in the Marin County District Attorneys Office for several years. During his career he was very active in law enforcement liaison activities and was a life member of the California Peace Officers Association. Swede and his family belonged to the Viking Ski Club for many years and enjoyed outings and activities with that group. He was also a member of the Marin Rod and Gun Club and during his younger years was an ardent duck and pheasant hunter. He was also an outstanding trap shooter. He loved his family dearly and were always first in his mind. He is survived by son Eric and daughter-in-law Frey Sorensen of San Pablo, Ca; son Mark and daughter-in-law Linda Sorensen of Santa Rosa, Ca; grandchildren, Ryan Sorensen of Santa Rosa, John and David Sorensen of San Pablo and niece Melinda Peterson and her husband Mike Peterson of Bend, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Sorensen and after her death, by his wife Alice Sorensen as well as his sister Naomi Eastwood. Memorial Service to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 333 Woodland Ave, San Rafael, Ca. on April 12, 2014 at 11:00AM. To send condolences visit www.keatonfunerals.com

To the Sorensen Family; We offer our sincere condolences for the loss of Swede.
He was a good friend an shared weekly workouts with the Hank Yamagata group
for may years.His stories at pizza nites still are with us.
