Brown (Sharp), Patricia
1929 - 2017
Patricia Sharp Brown, a former resident of the Columbus area, passed away on November 10, 2017 in Portola Valley, California. Born in Troy, OH on October 20, 1929, her parents, Robert K. Sharp and Myrtle Wood Sharp, moved the family to Grandview Heights, where Pat attended Grandview Heights High School. She attended Denison University for two years, then transferred to Ohio State, graduating in 1951. Pat lived a glamorous and adventurous life thereafter. The first stop was New York City, then to Paris where she began a successful modeling career, working with such fashion designers as Givenchy, Fath and Dior, traveling all over Europe to show their creations in their runway shows. She also appeared on the covers of several of France's leading fashion magazines. Returning to New York, she began modeling for Anne Klein at Junior Sophisticates. In 1955, a blind date with Robert "Andy" Brown, a New York advertising executive, led to a happy and devoted 61-year marriage. Andy's job took them first to Portland, OR, where their two daughters, Melissa and Sandra were born, then on to San Francisco, CA. After arriving in SF, Pat conceived of the idea for a corporate relocation service. A new business was born. She and Andy established a company called Relocation Consultants in San Francisco and the booming Silicon Valley region. Other California offices were soon added. Success came at a demanding effort and they sold the business in 1980 to retire at age 50. For several years, Pat and Andy traveled the world to exotic places. Sadly, at age 85, the first signs of Alzheimer's, a disease that had felled her father, became evident. It finally led to her death at age 88. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Pat is survived by her husband, Robert A. Brown; her two daughters, Melissa Fischer and Sandra McBride; four grandchildren, Ashley and Yvette Fischer, Tyler and Kelsey McBride; and brother, Robert L. Sharp.

Very sorry for your loss. My father, Lyle, always spoke highly of Patty from their days together in Grandview Heights. He was her escort for Homecoming in 1947.
May she rest in peace.
