Patricia CARTE Obituary
"Patsy"
age 84, died on July 9, 2016. Born March 8, 1932 in Tampa, she was the daughter of the late Estelle Ravenel Delany and Thomas Henry Delany; and was predeceased by her husband, Ballard S. "Buddy" Carte. Patsy attended Roosevelt Elementary, Wilson Junior High and Plant High, and graduated from the University of Florida. She earned a master's degree from the University of South Florida and taught school for many years in Hillsborough County, retiring in 1997. A member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Junior League of Tampa, she was also a life-long member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she twice served on the Vestry and was always active in parish life. Survivors include her sister, Mary D. Mixson of Tampa; her sons, Ballard "Bud" (Susan) and Thomas S., of Tampa, and James D. (Meg) of Wichita, KS; daughter, Patricia R. Bisbee (William 'Wig,') of South Bend, WA; grandchildren Martinique Carte Sato (Mark), Judd and Caitlin Carte, Ravenel Bisbee Staricka (Abel), Delany and William Bisbee, and DeVeaux Carte; and great-grandchildren, Evan Sato and Thuja Staricka. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice, St. John's Episcopal Church or charity of choice in her memory. A memorial service will be held for Patsy at 11 am, July 19, at St. John's, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

Mrs Carte was one of the best teachers ever and I'm so glad I had the pleasure to have her teach me two years at Mitchell (4th and 6th grades). Tom, my condolences to you and your whole family.

I'm saddened to learn of Patsy's passing, but glad we had a chance for a brief greeting at the Plant Hi luncheon in March. Patsy and I were in first grade together, and on through Plant High. She was a thoughtful friend throughout, with a kind word and attitude toward everyone. In short, I loved her dearly.

Dear Bud and Family,
It has been years since we were children calling Palma Ceia Golfcourse our stomping grounds. I have such great memories of you, Bobby Hodges and others! We had a blast as our poor parents tried to keep up with us. Your mom and dad were cherished and I am so sorry for your loss. May God send to you the Comforter and His Peace in the days and weeks ahead. Bless you and you have a special place in my heart...
