PATRICIA "PAT" CERVANTES

WOODSTOCK - Patricia "Pat" Cervantes, 80, died peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 surrounded by those she loved. Pat was born during a blizzard to Robert and Harriet Mansfield on March 15,1936 in Woodstock, IL; graduated from Alden-Hebron High School in 1954; and worked at the McHenry State Bank for 30 years. She married Ralph Cervantes on October 11, 1975 at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. Committed to extending her love to those in need, Pat befriended residents of the SEDOM center, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, and visited people who were homebound for many years. A faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, an officer of the former Kishwaukee Valley Garden Club, and the coordinator of the Adult & Child Therapy Services' Bridge Marathon, Pat also found time to play bridge with 4 different clubs (including one that has met for almost 50 years), to attend the Living Series at the Opera House and concerts on the Square regularly, and to go to as many of her grandchildren's events as she could. She loved the color purple, butterflies, flowers, Elvis, and cows, and she will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her thoughtfulness, and especially for her devotion to family and friends. Pat will be deeply missed by her daughters, Sue (Don) Trede, Lisa (Mike) Frauens, Margaret Cervantes, Laura Cervantes and Jennifer Cervantes; grandchildren, Brad (Courtney) Trede, Lauryn Trede, Bret Wienke, Shannon Cervantes, Jared (Alyssa) Wienke, Andrew Frauens, Kirsten Frauens; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell and John Mansfield; and many cherished nephews, nieces, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet and Robert; husband, Ralph; brothers, Howard and Frank; and nephews, Curtis, Edward, and Timothy. We thank her extended family and many friends for their love and support, and we thank God for the gift of her life and for the love and memories we will continue to cherish. A service of thanksgiving for her life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 with a visitation preceding at 10 a.m. All are invited to a luncheon at the church directly following the service.
