Patricia Knight Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 2, 2024.
Patricia Janet Knight, affectionately known as "Pat" or "Patsy," passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was 69 years old.

Born and raised in Waterville, Maine, Patricia was the cherished youngest member of a loving family. Her early years were filled with warmth and affection, which followed her as she moved with her young family from Waterville to Boston, Massachusetts. Patricia first lived in Roxbury, later moved to Mattapan, and eventually settled in Watertown in her final years.

Having attended Catholic school, Patricia's upbringing was deeply rooted in the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life, guiding her spiritual journey and connecting her with various church communities. She formed lasting, meaningful friendships at Holy Mount Zion Church, in Roxbury reflecting her dedication and deep sense of belonging.

Throughout her life, Patricia held numerous jobs, from working in retail as a vendor in the bustling downtown Boston marketplace to providing office support at the Big Brother Big Sister Association. Her varied career showcased her adaptability and work ethic.

Patricia was a woman who understood the importance of giving back. She was a dedicated supporter of Veterans and Native American causes, regularly donating to organizations to make a positive impact.

One of Patricia's greatest joys was her role as a mother to her two sons, Christian Knight and Byron Knight, and a loving mother-in-law to Kalimah Knight and Sacha Knight. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Elias, Kaleb, and Kai, always ready with a special treat and a warm smile. Family gatherings, especially seafood dinners, were among her favorite moments, filled with love and laughter.

Despite the many challenges she faced, Patricia's strength, resilience, and unwavering love were the hallmarks of her character. Her spirited personality and strong will to live were evident until her last days, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her beloved sons, Christian and Byron, her cherished grandsons, Elias Knight, Kaleb Knight, and Kai Knight, her dear sisters, Linda Sullivan, her husband Brian Sullivan, and Jane Collins, her husband Richard Collins, and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her love and light. Patricia will be received in heaven by those who have preceded her; parents Florian Andrew Dostie, Virginia Jeanette Dostie and her nephew Kevin P. Collins.

First memories of Ms Patricia were, seeing her at Holy Mt Zion Church on Sundays, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Christian´s and Bryan´s visits and hurrying out to see them.
Such a genuinely loving and caring person, not just to her family but to everyone around her. Remembering also her good relationship with my mother as well, and how she always took the time to say hello and acknowledge me.
My sincere condolences to the families and friends of a great lady who is now lo longer with us in flesh, but will always be in spirit.

I have great memories of spending time at family gatherings as a little girl with my Auntie Patsy at the Collins´ Home on Bolduc Street in Lewiston, and on Dunton Court in Waterville and Memere´s House on Paine Street in Winslow. Pat was funny, smart and a loving mom, aunt, sister and daughter! Rest well, Auntie Pat
