ANDERSON — Patricia Louise Mary (Boheim) Lakes, 74, of Anderson, passed away April 23, 2009, surrounded by her family, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Harvey, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Swink) Boheim. 

She was a 1952 graduate of Howe High School in Indianapolis and lived most of her life in Anderson. 

Patricia was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening and being with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Michelle (husband, Jim) Afflitto of Massachusetts; five sons, Michael (wife, Dana) Lakes of Pendleton, Mitchell (wife, Christine) Lakes of Anderson, Marty Lakes of Pendleton, Matthew Lakes (companion, Lisa Junkersfeld) of Anderson and Mark Lakes of Fishers; former daughter-in-law Jenny Purciful; grandchildren, Daniel (fiancée, Danielle Wright), Jennifer, Bryce, Lillian, Laura and Gabriella; step-grandchildren, Loren and Katie; two brothers-in-law, Jim (wife, Diane) Lakes and Jack (wife, Shirley) Lakes, all of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Ralph Lakes; daughter, Melody Kay Lakes; granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Lakes; and sister, Dorothy Parsley.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Ed Purciful. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rachel Lakes Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Madison County Community Foundation, 33 W. 10th St., Anderson, IN 46016.
