Patricia (Schwartz) Bell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2024.
Patricia Marie (Schwartz) Bell, known to many as Pat or Patti, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024, at her home in Carson City, Nevada, where she entered Heaven and joyfully reunited with family, friends, and pets, waiting for her with open wings.

Patricia, the eldest of two children, was born on January 10, 1947, to Armand and Dolores Schwartz in Oakland, California, and grew up with her brother, Rick, and family in the East Bay. She graduated from Castro Valley High School in 1964, married in 1966, and gave birth to her daughter, Deanna, in 1968. She remarried later in her life.

Before landing in Carson City in 2001, Patricia lived for many years in Castro Valley and surrounding areas. In her early years, she worked as a contract clerk in the automotive industry for several auto dealerships. Patricia loved visiting San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and Stinson Beach, as well as venturing to casinos in Reno to play slots with her father. She also enjoyed antiques, garage sales, flea markets, fishing, and her favorite, SHOPPING! Patricia was a great cook but also liked going out. Some of her favorite bay area restaurants were Scoma's, Banchero's, Dublin Corral, Emil Villa's Hickory Pit, and, of course, the original Casper's Hot Dogs. Patricia appreciated music, with blues and rock-n-roll being her top picks, and B.B. King, Elvis, Sinatra, and Jerry Lee Lewis were some of her favorites.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Deanna; son-in-law, Grant; brother, Richard; nieces, Julie and Laurie; nephew, Michael; and dear best friend of over 50 years, Margery. Special thanks to her friend, Brittany, who provided companionship and assistance to Patricia in recent years, as well as her caregivers, Nicole and Brandon, who lovingly cared for her over the last year. Everyone's efforts made a meaningful difference in the lives of her and her daughter.

Patricia will be missed for her caring, giving, and nurturing heart. Lending an ear or a shoulder to others and making them feel special and loved came easy to her. She adored and believed in angels, and she accumulated a large angel collection over the years. Patricia is now "our" angel in Heaven, and, without a doubt, we know she is at peace and enjoying "free" shopping every day!

Patricia's final resting place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. A private burial and celebration of life will be held.
