PATRICIA ANN "PATSY"
Age 68, of Manchester, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016. Visitation on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Bidwell Presbyterian Church, 1025 Bidwell St., Pgh., PA 15233 where the service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. Transitional services of love entrusted to the CALVIN L. SHEFFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Allegheny Ave. (near the North Shore), 412-322-2530.

Sadly, I only recently learned of her passing. I met her at the Vintage Center in East Liberty three years ago. I wanted to learn how to line dance and after saying hello to her and learning that she was a resident of Manchester, it was easy to talk with her thereafter. I grew up in Manchester with my three sisters. She was a kind and generous person. I will miss her. Brenda Davis

My condolences to the family. Dr. Washington will forever be dear to my heart. God placed her in my life during a difficult transition to a new city and a new school. Dr. Washington displayed love, structure, determination and hope to ALL of her students. Dr. Washington was the first African American education I had met which opened the door for me to truely believe that I too could be an educator. Today I thank God for her life and the wisdom she shared with me. Thank you Dr. Washington for being you.
