Patricia Weber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2024.
Patricia Weber, affectionately known as Pat or Paddy to her family and a long-time resident of Seattle, peacefully passed away on February 25, 2024, at 75. Pat stayed in Boise, Idaho, at the time of her passing.

Patricia, a native of New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, was born to James and Trixie Sturrock on October 31, 1948. She excelled academically, attending Morley Street Elementary School and later Moscrop High School, where she graduated in 1967. Patricia's thirst for knowledge led her to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, where she earned her Teaching Degree in 1971.

While in Hawaii Pat was introduced to Property management and became very successful managing for some large landowners. She volunteered with charities such as the Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society. She joined the Honolulu Club, a prestigious Athletic Club and further developed her passion for running and fitness along with meeting many friends whom she was still connected too long after she moved to Seattle.

In the early 1990s Pat moved to the Pacific Northwest. In 1994, Pat and Ken Weber's lives intersected for the first time in the elevator of a new condo in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. This serendipitous meeting began a love story that captivated everyone who knew them. The couple exchanged vows in 2001 and spent the rest of their lives together in the same condominium where their love story began. Their journey of love spanned 17 years and was a testament to the power of true love. Pat and Ken shared a passion for travel, often journeying to Oregon and Idaho to visit their children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. Patricia's dedication to athletics was a testament to her character. She consistently trained in running and completed several marathons as personal achievements. Her goals led her to participate in whole and half marathons in different parts of the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Washington. To celebrate her 50th birthday, she participated in the New York Marathon. Even after retirement, she remained active in road running, Pilates, and gym workouts. Her commitment to fitness was not just a hobby, but a way of life.

Pat was exceptionally kind and generous and had a keen interest in people and their unique strengths, which allowed her to recognize the potential in those around her. For 13 years, Pat selflessly served on the University Heights Center board, actively participating in various committees, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the community center. As a former elementary and secondary school teacher, Pat was driven by a deep desire to serve the youth at UHeights and organize drives to aid the unhoused population. She was proud to

apply her years of property management experience to streamline processes at the center. Pat's appreciation for the staff was evident in her thoughtful gestures, such as gifting the facilities team with Ezell's fried chicken. Her infectious sense of humor and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared her to all. Pat enjoyed talking with and supporting others, particularly those who served the community. Pat believed that every stranger was simply an acquaintance waiting to be made. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother Craig Sturrock, and her beloved husband, Ken Weber. Patricia is survived by her sister Janet Morris, sister-in-law Darlyne Sturrock, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, niece and nephew Matthew and Lesley Sturrock and extended loved ones, Ken Jr, and Kristen Weber, Julie Morosic Sloop and Darwin Sloop, Debbie Collins, Jennie Ritter, and their families. Patricia's love for her family and pets, most recently her dear golden retriever, Crema, who preceded her in death, was a defining part of her life. In honor of Pat, donations to any animal charity you choose, or the University Heights Center https://www.uheightscenter.org/donate will honor her love for her family, community and animals.

A Celebration of Life for Patricia Weber will be held on Sunday, May 5th, at 12:30 pm to 2 pm at University Heights Center 5031 University Wy NE, Seattle, WA 98105.

Pat and I met while working together in a college. She was the Director of Housing and brought her shining light and brilliant business talents to this organization. Pat was the only Director of Housing in the school system's history to bring profit to that department and opportunity to the housing students via her business skills. - We turned from colleagues to friends and had many a double tall decaf latte, her favorite drink, in the last twenty years. What I knew each time we got together was that by the time we parted, we would have made a few friends of the strangers we met that day. Pat brought that to the world. Pat was born on the day of a total solar eclipse, the moon and the sun crossing paths to shine that golden light. Thank you, Pat, for bringing that light and allowing all who knew you to see others in that light because of you. --- With all my love.

Paddy was my amazing sister. She was full of life and as they say, never met a stranger. I think of her everyday and try to concentrate on all the wonderful memories.
