Just found out... I always think of you on rainy evenings in late spring, remembering you pack up to leave for New York, talking together about lovely creative things. Miss you, but I have for a while now. It makes me happy to think of you seeing your mother again! I hope you are finding Peace. Your Star Wars comics are still safely with me.

As a fellow Lymie/co-infection person who was friends on Facebook with many of his friends, I can certainly understand what he was going through. I struggled when I was in a private Minnesota college myself, but was undiagnosed at the time. I know how very loved he was, and how highly regarded by all of the outpouring of love that has been expressed for him by his FB friends. My own child is older than him, so I could easily have been his mother. From what I know of him, I would have been proud to have been his parent. The world has obviously experienced a great loss, but I know he is in a more peaceful place, and is out of his excruciating pain now. I just wish there was some magic bullet for all of the Lymies out there who are suffering. There are so very many. More than anyone knows, but seemingly only those of us who have it. The world was a better place for having Patrick in it. Rest in peace, Dear Patrick. You are resting in good hands. God bless.

Dear, dear Patrick--Though we met only in recent years, it is easy for me to echo all that has been said by others here. You graced the lives of so many. You touched a very wide world of those who loved you dearly. And, in the end, even your bravery was so apparent. Many arms around you as you finally sleep. A rest well earned. Sweetest of dreams, Dear Patrick. A lot of tears from so many--testimony of your enormous impact.

I went to Harrison, Anwatin, and Southwest with Pat. He was one year younger than me, in my sister Selene's grade. What I will always remember about Pat is that he was such a sweet, gentle, and kind soul. On top of that, he was gorgeous, fun, funny, and so intelligent. I have not seen Pat for 15+ years. But, I kept meaning to tell him how much I loved his fb posts. Pat, you will be missed by so many people. Kerry- my heart breaks for you, big hug from me to you. Pat, Peace and Love to You.

I had the honor and was lucky enough to call Patrick my boyfriend. Words can't express how grateful I am for the time we spent together. He was loving, kind, soulful and incredibly grateful for the small things in life. Patrick, I loved our minds together. This sounds so cliche, but being your partner made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Every step I take I hope you walk with me. I'll miss you for the rest of this lifetime... I'll see you in another life sweetheart.

Dear Patrick, sweet, sweet man, you are one of the kindest and most positive people I have ever met. I know death is the time for superlatives, but what I write is really true. One of the kindest and most positive people I have EVER met! No matter how bedridden and down I was due to the horrors of this illness, you would tell me we had to get better, that we WOULD get better. I fear that losing someone as warm, vibrant, caring, giving and good as you, Patrick, will devastate our ME/CFS and Lyme communities of suffering sick souls. Please, people, please, don't lose hope. Hang in there. I wish I had been there for you, Patrick, at the end, and told you to hang on, just a little bit longer. I wish I could have been the positive force that you had been for me so many times earlier. I love you. I will miss you. Thank you for being my friend. The world is a better place because you were in it, Patrick. -- With great respect and love, Rivka
Dear Patrick's Family: We are a big community, this community of folks with ME/CFS and Lyme, and Patrick was friends with a great many of us. He really made our lives better. Please know that. -- Rivka

To the family of my son Brad's most beloved friend.
I was so saddened to hear that you have lost Pat.
I have such wonderful memories of Pat, Brad,Jeff Paguyo and Eric Balcos hanging out in my kitchen, guitar jamming in my basement, working together at the 510 from Anwatin, to Southwest to college days.
I was always so grateful that Pat was in Brad's life bringing inspiration when Brad was down and depressed. His smile and caring way was amazing.
When Brad died Pat sent our family such a beautiful message and we were so grateful.
We lost these boys too soon, but I dream that tonight they are strumming their guitars together
and remembering the good times they shared.
I find peace in knowing how much these boys have been loved and hope you will find that comfort as well.
Wishing you peace and comfort as you go through this difficult time.

My sweet uncle Patrick. "Uncle". A weird word for someone younger than me, but weird is normal in our family. Back when we were teenagers, he coined himself "Uncle Embryo". It seemed so effortless for him to be quick-witted and funny. And, oh, his loving, kind heart! My goodness. If only more of us could have his patient, welcoming, loving heart. If only.
I've heard the term "light up a room" many times before, and Patrick is one of the only people I've ever known who can truly light up a room. He really did shine.
I hadn't been able to see him the last 6 years because of his illness, and geography. I am heartsick that I won't see his shiny self walk into a room again. And I can't help but feel like the rest of the rooms of the world have been gypped.
Now, no longer in pain and no longer battling, he can shine like the star he's always been.
Shine on, Uncle Embryo. Shine on in peace, and know that you are loved.
