Paul Bosworth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2024.
Paul Bosworth, aged 75, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Born on February 9, 1949, in Burlington, Vermont, Paul was a highly respected figure in the textile industry, known for his passion and dedication.

Paul's career was marked by significant leadership roles, including being the President of Lee Jofa in Long Island, New York, for a decade, and the founder and President of Sterling & Knight in Keene, New Hampshire. He began his illustrious career at Schumacher in New York City as National Contract Sales Manager, progressing through various prominent positions across the country. His professional journey was not just a testament to his skills but also to his passion for the industry and the people he worked with.

A veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War, Paul carried the discipline and resilience from his military service throughout his life. He was an active member of the Jewish community, where he found both solace and peace.

Paul was an avid long-distance runner, a lover of history, politics, and nature. His hobbies also included savoring fine wine and port, and he cherished spending vacations with his family at the beach or in the mountains. His love for old homes complemented his wife Cathy's passion for renovations, bringing joy and surprises into their home with each of his returns from travels.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Cathy, his daughter, Sara Bosworth Osetek, and his sons, Ross, Chase and Max Bosworth. Paul was predeceased by his adoptive parents, Daniel and Norma Bosworth, and his birth parents, Paul and Patricia St. John. He is also survived by his loyal Papillon, Draper, and numerous friends across the globe, including his best friend Anthony Evans, who he often reminisced about sharing a Long Island Blueberry Port with. Paul was an amazing father and had a very special bond with each of his four children.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Neptune Society in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is assisting the family during this time. Paul's life was a vivid tapestry of love, friendship, and professional achievements, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Like he often said, "off on life's greatest adventure".

I have just now learned that Paul passed away and am truly devastated. Paul was my boss while I was the showroom director at Lee Jofa, and he was the President. He was a truly gifted leader, salesman, and a supportive friend and so much fun to be around. I still carry many of his lessons with me today. He loved his family dearly and spoke of each of you so often and with such bursting pride. My deepest condolences to Cathy.

Dear Cathy and family, I just saw this and am so saddened to learn of Paul´s passing. He was truly one of a kind, inspired me in my career. I loved the long talks we would have when traveling for Sanderson and later Whitaker & Woods. He will truly be missed by so many. The design industry was blessed to him a part of it. I know my life was better because I knew him! Bless you all.

I worked with Paul during my time at Kravet / Lee Jofa; he was such a nice person and mentor. He was so proud of his family and always spoke of his kids. May you rest in peace. --Liz McCarthy - Woods

I met Paul at Schumacher, my first job in the industry back in 1977. He became a friend and work colleague. We would regularly have lunch where he introduced me to sushi. Which I love to this day, we talked about his time in Vietnam , his family, his birth parents, his conversion to Judaism and the many things he did. He was very proud of his children and family life he built. Our paths crossed many times over the years working in the same industry. I'm sad to hear about his passing. I will always reminder him with fondness and the friendship we shared. My sincere condolence to his family. May he rest in peace.

Dear Cathy and Family,
I was so saddened to learn of Paul's passing, he will always be remembered by me as a kind and gentle spirit. I met him when he was a salesperson in the design business, so pleased that the two of you were married and had a wonderful family. I wish you well, as I remember the times we worked together and had dinner in NYC so very long ago. Take care, fond wishes, Elda Borges.
