Paul Ferguson Obituary

Paul Lehr Ferguson of Tyler passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007. An entrepreneur who founded Ferguson Beauregard, Inc., he devoted much of his life to building his company, sharing time with his family, and enjoying the beauty of nature around him.

Mr. Ferguson was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Houston to Fred and Veda Ferguson. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He and Jeanne Lois Patterson were married on April 27, 1957, and moved to Tyler in 1967. They were the parents of a daughter, Patricia Lee Ferguson Branan, Carrollton.

As an ambitious and creative man, Mr. Ferguson developed and holds a patent for a specialized plunger lift used in oil fields. The company, Ferguson Beauregard, Inc., is the largest producer of artificial deliquification systems and has continued to implemented new technology over the years.

Both Paul and Jeanne. who passed away in December 2001, enjoyed travel and were active participants in the Tyler See and Ski Travel Club. Together they traveled much of the world.

Mr. Ferguson loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Master Gardener, member of the Tyler Museum of Art, and Willow Brook Country Club.

The Ferguson's daughter Patricia (Tricia) is married to Scott Branan of Carrollton.

Mr. Ferguson was proud of and enjoyed sharing time with his two grandsons, Richard S. Branan, 12, and Brett Travis Branan, 7.

Other survivors include brother, Wayne (wife Wynne Lou) Ferguson of Richland Springs; and sister, Carolyn Ferguson Tait (husband Steve) of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, Tyler. Private graveside will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to charity of your choice.
