Paul J. Giovinazzo

AGE: 85 • Washington

Paul J. Giovinazzo, of Washington Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Hunterdon Medical Center. He was 85.

Paul was born and raised in Madison and was a long-time Florham Park resident, before moving to Washington Twp. Paul honorably served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War.

Paul was an electrical contractor and the owner of Rose City Electric in Madison which he started in 1954, before retiring in 2012, although he really never stopped working. Paul had the unique gift to build, repair or design anything you could possibly imagine no matter how complicated the project. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing regularly at his golf club Hawk Pointe and annual golf trips with friends. Above all, his greatest love was for his family, friends and summers in Sea Girt.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, the late Salvatore and Rose Giovinazzo, and his step-sister, Josephine Locapo. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Antoinette Giovinazzo (nee Galdi) of Washington Twp.; two daughters, Renee Rohrbach of Rock Hill, SC, and her companion Rick, and Paula Novello of Chatham, and her husband John; his son, Paul S. Giovinazzo of Stow, MA, and his wife Debbie; one sister, Mary Iossa of DE; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Vela, and her husband Josh, Logan Rohrbach, Courtney Denzer, and her husband Bill, Sydney, Nicholas, Hayley, Hunter, and Alexander; one expected great-grandchild; and many good friends.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00AM at Holy Family RC Church, Florham Park followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.

Memorial donations may be made in Paul's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 Research Hospital or to the National Korean War Veterans, PO Box 407, Charleston, IL 61920.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was a great friend who I had the pleasure of sharing may golf trips. The Florida trips were a great legacy to Paul who started them over 30 years ago. My brothers Frank and Joe along with Rich Sandillo still go on this trip started by Paul each year. He will be missed.
